Connect Your Domain.com to Wix
This Domain.com-Wix domain mapping guide is a 2-part integration process.
The first part requires you to Add your custom domain through Wix website while the second part is for you to Configure the DNS through Domain.com or your DNS provider.
The second part varies depending who’s hosting the DNS of your domain, but in a nutshell, you need to create DNS records like A record and CNAME(Pointing method) or redirect your domain to Wix name servers(DNS method).
If you’re a beginner, I recommend to use DNS method. This way, the Wix support team can help you with DNS and website concerns at the same time.
Redirecting your domain to Wix nameservers will allow them to host the DNS and easily configure it on your behalf.
But if you’re already comfortable or have a lot of experience managing the DNS on your own, then you may use the Pointing method instead.
Domain.com Brief Insight
Domain.com Pros • Good introductory price or promo. Cons • Whois privacy protection is not free. • Renewal price is a bit higher than most registrars. • Support team is not knowledgeable enough or not helpful. • Not so user-friendly interface. Summary Domain.com is one of the most popular domain registrars today, but I don’t think it belongs to the top 10 when it comes to providing good service. The renewal price of its .com domain costs $13.99 which is a bit higher than most registrars. In addition, it will cost an additional $8.99 per year to have a privacy protection, which is free from other registrars like NameSilo, Namecheap, Google Domains, Hover, 1and1 etc. So for those who want to buy a domain with Domain.com, I recommend to do more research and read real users reviews before proceeding. It will give you a better idea how good or bad it is. Pricing5 Features8 Support3 Ease of Use7 |

Verify Your Domain Connection
Once you’ve updated your domain’s DNS records, return to the Domains page in your Wix account and click Verify Connection.
Due to DNS propagation delay, you may not be able to verify the domain connection immediately.
DNS Propagation
All DNS changes may take up 48 hours to fully take effect online so you may not see the changes you just did in the domain name. Be patient and give it more time to propagate in the entire internet.
Given that the DNS was properly configured, it’s just a matter of time before your domain connects with Wix.
Check this out if you have another domain from a third party domain registrar you wish to connect with Wix from a different 3rd-party domain registrar.
